With midnight tonight signalling the beginning of England’s four week national lockdown, it’s hard not to be struck by an overwhelming sense of déjà vu. However unlike March, the weather is colder and the nights are drawing in, making the prospect of another long lockdown daunting to say the least.

This time round self-care, and care for those around us, is going to be even more important. We need to make sure that we take care of our minds, just as much as our bodies. As is natural with a pandemic, a lot of focus is placed on our physical well-being, but being more restricted to our households and less able to see our family and friends can leave us all feeling a little low from time to time.
So this lockdown, give yourself a break. Don‘t be too hard on yourself and don’t forget to take a little time for yourself. Self-care is not self-indulgent, it’s a necessity.
Over the coming weeks we’re going to be sharing on our site and via our social media some of the ways we like to unwind and indulge in a little bit of TLC. We’d also love to hear the ways that you’re looking after your mental health this lockdown, so please make sure to get in touch and tag us on social media.
