Christmas Countdown: Festive Candles and Scents

I don’t know who decided that certain scents would be associated with Christmas, but thank goodness they did because Christmas scented candles and oils are some of my favourites. From the fresh scents of Elderberry and fig or frosted cedar to the warm spices of berries, clementine and cinnamon; what’s not to love about the gorgeous aromas of the Christmas season.

This year, perhaps moreso than any other, is a great time to buy family and friends scented products for Christmas, be it scented candles, diffusers or wax melts. Not only are we spending more time at home, but they are perfect for creating a relaxing ambiance whilst working from home or just relaxing in an evening.

There are so many different products on the market and everyone has their own go to scents and brands, but if you are looking for inspiration there are two products I would highly recommend.

The first can be found at retailers like Marks & Spencer, Argos and Sainsbury’s - lit gel candles. I’ll be honest, when I first got one of these candles I was in awe. They consist of a scented candle, surrounded by gel which is intricately decorated with LEDs that light up when you ignite the candle. It adds a little bit extra glitz and glamour, particular as the gel often consists of shiny materials for the lights to reflect off.

The second is The White Company’s winter scent. The name is incredibly befitting of this gorgeous aroma because as soon as you smell it you immediately think of winter and Christmas. The winter scent comes in so many different varieties, from candles of varying sizes, diffuser oils and sprays to winter scented pot pourri meaning that there really is something for everyone.

Scented candles and Christmas aromas are a huge part of the Christmas experience for me and it has the strange ability to effortlessly make you feel more festive. We all deserve a little bit of luxury this year, whether it’s treating ourselves or our family and friends, so make sure to stock up on your favourite scents and have a lovely relaxing December.
